Promise two

Today, I read in 1 Timothy.  At first, it was hard to find a promise; but through persistance, I found God’s promise for me today.

1Tim 3:13  For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus. 
 (The NIV reads:  “Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.”)

I believe this means that those who serve in the church as deacons will increase in their faith by serving God.

Promise one

Lately my dad, mom and siblings have started searching through the Bible searching for God’s promises and commandes for us; so now, I’m going to start blogging about the promises I’ve found. Please feel free to share your own thoughts and promises.

Psa 125:3  For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous stretch out their hands to do wrong.

I belive this promise is stating for us that people such as Hitler will not last; they will almost certainly cause damage in their reign, but they will eventually fall, unlike God’s kingdom which will (as Daniel tells in his dream) smash the earthly kingdoms and fill the whole earth.
