Here is what God gave me today:
16 And moreover I saw under the sun, in the place of justice, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that wickedness was there. 17 I said in my heart, God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work. 18 I said in my heart, It is because of the sons of men, that God may prove them, and that they may see that they themselves are but as beasts.
Eccl 3:16-18 (ASV)
interesting, isn’t it? ” that God may prove them, and that they may see that they themselves are but as beasts.” This is why sin is still in the world today, and why God didn’t just get rid of it in the first place! (I mean that literally, the garden of Eden was the first place on earth) You might wonder, why did God want his son to die, I thought God wasn’t cruel?! Why did it take him so long to get rid of sin?! And speaking of which, sin is still here! Why did God even allow sin to come into the world?
My job, is to go through these questions, and try to give you answers:
1 Why did God want his son to die, I thought God wasn’t cruel! Well, God isn’t cruel first, the reason God’s son had to die, is so that we would know his grace! Think about it, if Jesus hadn’t died, would we really “know for certain” that God loved us! John 3:16 wouldn’t have been written, the bible wouldn’t have been written! That’s, why it was so important for Jesus to die on the cross for us.
2 Why is sin still here! I thought God got rid of it on the cross? Well, have you killed a chicken or a snake? Then you’ll know that, even after its head is cut off, it still runs around or slithers around for a while, it’s like that with sin only it’s for our good, Even after sin got it’s head cut off (if you really look at it, the cross looks like of like a sword with the tip stuck in the mountain) it continues to run around causing as much trouble as it can, God uses this trouble for our good, if we trust in him to provide everything we need, then it only grows our faith in him.
3 Why did God even allow sin to come into the world? Frankly, look at the answer to questions one and two, so that our faith in God would grow!
You are loved!
