no comforter

21 Sep

Hello again!

Here is some what of a sad passage, yet a glad one.

1 Then I returned and saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and, behold, the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

Eccl 4:1 (ASV)

Notice how it says that on the oppressors side there was power, yet with the people there was no comforter, what does that make you think of? The Devil is powerful, we have to acknowledge that for sure, he is cruel, we definitely know that much, and he is a oppressor, he prays on the weak, and captures them.

The way I see it, the people under sin are oppressed, the Devil is the oppressor, and they have no comforter, no one to help them. We, however, have a comforter, Jesus! He saves us from the oppressor, and now we are free.

That’s what I got out of it, please feel free to mention what you think.

You are loved!

Joshua Cleveland
