Use your days wisely, while you still have them.

01 Oct

Hello again!

Today God has given me another look into his word:

7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun. 8 Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity. 9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment. 10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.

Eccl 11:7-10 (ASV)

In verse 9 it says ” Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.” That’s rather a sobering thought, wouldn’t you agree? Another words “Sure, be sinful, just be willing to reap the consequences for it”.

In verse 8 it says “Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.” The actual dictionaries description of vanity is “The quality of being valueless or futile. Synonyms: emptiness” The days when you were still in darkness, they were all “empty”… Without Jesus you are totally and completely “empty” without any real hope. You try to fill that “emptiness” but only gain guilt and more condemnation, that’s why we all need Jesus!

In verse 10 it says ” Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.” If we replace “vanity” with “empty” it reads  “Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are empty.” That reads an entirely new thing, the dawn of life, empty, youth with out Jesus, empty, all is “empty” with out Jesus! The only way to obey the bible and cast of vanity and sorrow and evil, is to trust fully in Jesus!

You are loved!
