We will die without mercy… Won’t we?

09 Dec

Hello again!

I always love how perfectly passages in scripture can picture Jesus, and how they show us the future, though the passage, is still in the past:

Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

(Heb 10 28-31)

I think this shows us several major points:

 1. There is punishment for sin.

2. I don’t want to be an atheist on my deathbed (or ever, for that matter).

3. We should not spurn aka, purposefully ignore, God’s son, and what he did for us.

Let me just show you the gospel in this passage real quick. We have broken every law of the ten commandments. We have spurned God’s son at least once in our life (At our birth). And we are deserving, of a merciless death. Then, came Jesus. He died a merciless death for us. He fell into the hands of God. So that, we could fall into the embrace of God. He died for us, so that we could live for him. God was going to have vengeance on humankind, so he had it. On Jesus, 100% man and 100% God.

So, it is no longer a scary thing to come to God. His hands are helpful not hurtful. And, if you still have not come to God. Please, do so now.

I know I’ve mentioned this site before, but I still highly recommend it:

You are loved!
