God the builder

25 Dec

Hello again!

Today, when you read these verses, I suggest that you try to apply them to yourself;

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore. These all died in faith, not having received the things promised, but having seen them and greeted them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had thought of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return.

(Heb 11:12-15)

Let’s pick out a few key verses here.

Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.

and having acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For people who speak thus make it clear that they are seeking a homeland.

If they had thought of that land from which they had gone out, they would have had opportunity to return.

Through one man, near death, Jesus, we were “reborn” as God’s children, now that we are God’s children (christians), we are exiled from the rest of the earth. And so, we search for a “homeland” (heaven). We have the opportunity to go back into sin, and that’s a choice we all have to make, daily, will we return to sin? Or will we continue on, searching for our homeland?

You are loved!
