Scarlet to Wool

12 Feb

Hello again!

When you read this verse, just remember this; “God’s reasoning with you, is a lot different from you reasoning with yourself!”:

“Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. (Isa 1:18)

I think this actually rather goes to together with my last post “bloody hands”.

Here’s that verse, put in you/me terms:

Lets see, you’re a bloody sinner, um… You are (*currently*) worthless, wretched, and have no purpose to your life!… To put it frankly, you’re a bloody mess!

But, you know something?… My son died so that you could “clean up”. He became a bloody mess, for you… So that you can become my son (sheep)!

That’s what I think this verse is saying.

There, believe it or not, is a reason Jesus died for you and for me… It was so that you and I could become God’s children! For heaven’s sake (if you’ll pardon the pun), that’s God’s own reasoning!

You are loved!

      As if? Hmm, interesting question.

As if Jesus could save you from you’re wretched state? Yes

As if Jesus would humble himself unto death? Yep

As if we were worthy of receiving the Gospel… Nope

As if Jesus died for you and for me, because you and I were so hopelessly lost? Yep

As if we could be saved. Yep, we can be!

As if we weren’t evil from birth? Yep, evil as they come.

As if Jesus couldn’t save us from that? Yes he can, and he did!

As if we could be deserving of such a thing! Nope, not worthy in the least!

Hmm, I think I like that question, thanks for bringing it up Courtney… Or Kourtnie, however you prefer to spell it.
