There’s the humble… And the not so humbled

08 Mar

Hello again!

This is what God gave me today in his word:

Man is humbled, and each one is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are brought low. But the LORD of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows himself holy in righteousness. (Isa 5:15-16)

“But Joshua“, you might say, “how can God be so holy and righteous, if he seems to always be ordering people to kill each other! I mean, sure, I can understand the whole ‘me being brought low’ junk, er, stuff… But how can I worship a God that does that sort of thing?!”

I wouldn’t probably respond by saying: “See, you’re a perfect example of someone still needing to be humbled…” Reality is, the reason the Iraq war is going on now, and the reason all those wars went on in the past, more accurately, in the old testament. ls because people were turning away from God, and to Idols.

We of course we’re the same way as them, (the old testament people), because we all turn to idols at one point or another, no matter how hard we try we just can’t seem to make ourselves work, can we? The reason we can’t seem to make our bodies obey ourself is for this simple reason:

We, and he, may rhyme, but that’s where the similarity comes to a dead stop. We’ve all got pride, it’s just a thing of life, it’s what we do with that matters, we should give our pride to he – aka – Jesus. Like the verse above shows, we should be brought low, and God should be praised… To bad that’s impossible.

We can’t do anything! We should do things, but we don’t! Jesus does everything through us!!!

In of ourselves, it’s 100% impossible to do anything, of Jesus’ self, it’s possible to do anything and everything! That’s really all that it boils down to, we are nothing, he is, quite literally, everything, as the paragraph below will explain:

Last night, my brother and I were watching a show about “the universe”, and how worldly scientists explain how the universe doesn’t just fly apart like it should… They call it “dark matter“, the say that they don’t really know much about it, as in, it just plain out must exist… Christians have another name for it, or should I say him… God! He is the substance that holds the universe together! He is 100% all-powerful, and 100% almighty.

You are loved!
