This is what God gave me today in his word:
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” (Isa 12:2-6)
And now we see the result of the Gospel (of Jesus)… I’m beginning to notice a pattern in Isiah… First, God’s wrath against Israel for turning away from him. Then we see “a root from Jesse” who will have the Spirit of the Lord (along with a lot of others). Then we see God “stretching out his hand” to all the nations and “recovering the remnants”. And now we see thanksgiving to God… Hmm; God was angry at us for disobeying him. But, because his anger was a righteous one he still wanted to save us, so Jesus comes, dies and rises again on the third day for us, and now we should be praising and worshiping him for it! So why isn’t America (all of it) praising and worshiping God? Because we’ve turned to drugs as our God’s, drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes.
When we stop making the son the center of our universe (pardon the pun), we leave ourselves open to an attack by the Devil… You don’t want that.
In summary: The Gospel of Jesus is every in the Bible, even in the Old Testament! And the reason we should celebrate is because, frankly, God sent his son to die for us!
You are loved!
