Peace Be With You

30 Apr

Hello again!

This is what God gave me today in his word:

O LORD, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works. O LORD our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone we bring to remembrance. (Isa 26:12-13)

What happens when we remember Jesus – you can tell the disciples remembered, because they were over-joyed when they saw Jesus, would you be over-joyed if someone you had forgotten about walked through the door (quite literally)? –

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 20 After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:19-21)

What happens when we don’t remember:

The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God. (Psalm 9:17)

In short; We have two possible “paths” to follow. – “We” meaning the USA as a nation – We can either start remembering God, or continue on our nice little down-ward spiral. Please pray that America would turn around from the path it is now headed in!

Let’s look at a different aspect of these verses real quick here:

O LORD, you will ordain peace for us, for you have indeed done for us all our works

21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”

We have peace in our Christian “works”, whatever those may be. You’ll notice that right after Jesus had said “Peace be with you!” again, he sent them to do the will of that Father. – As if meaning that there is peace in doing God’s work. –

In conclusion; America has forgotten God; The war in Iraq is proof enough. That, and no matter what, as long as we are always doing what God wants us to be doing… God will give us peace. You’ll notice Christians more or less always have peace, that’s because whether we like it or not, God usually works in us “to will and to do” his works.

You are loved!
