Today my family decided to head to Fountain of Grace Church, where a friend of my dad (and mom) was stepping down as pastor, in order to go spread the Gospel somewhere else. Because of this, he chose to preach – for the last time at that church – on Acts 20:28-31.
The sermon he preached had to be (rather extremely) short, as before the “actual” sermon, we had taken communion, and he had almost preached half a sermon introducing it. Thus, Pastor Will basically just had the following points:
1. Be wary of others coming in that will pervert the Gospel in this Church.
2. The Gospel; which is that Jesus came, died, and rose again for us, must stay the most important thing.
For the most part, the service consisted of singing, praying, taking communion, and about half an hour(?) of preaching, and about half of that half an hour was taken up with introducing communion. So, needless to say, he didn’t expound much on the points; at least, I can’t remember him doing so. — for more information, I suggest you visit these sites:
