Atheism; It’s Tendency to Confuse, Turn Upside Down, and Generally Not Make Sense…

05 May

Hello again!

This is what God gave me today in his word:

Ah, you who hide deep from the LORD your counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?” You turn things upside down! Shall the potter be regarded as the clay, that the thing made should say of its maker, “He did not make me”; or the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”? (Isa 29:15-16)

6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. (James 1:6-8)

Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.” – Don’t you think that’s a little harsh? I mean, calling someone double-minded and unstable just because they don’t believe the same way you do seems a little mean/narrow-minded don’t you think? Well, it sure would be if there wasn’t proof that:

A. They were double-minded and/or unstable.

And B. That the one they were supposed to believe in – i.e. God – is real.

Well, let’s address point A first:

“A double minded man” – The word used here; “δίψυχος dipsuchos”, occurs only here. And In James 4:8 we can see that it means, properly, “one who has two souls.” This is applicable to a man who has no settled principles; who is controlled by passion; who is influenced by popular feeling; who is currently inclined to one opinion or course of conduct, but will soon move on to another…  That someone who is double-minded or unstable is someone who quickly changes opinions. And anyone who is not firm in the Gospel of Jesus Christ will without doubt quickly be “swept up” in one fade or another… That’s what James meant by “double-minded and unstable”.

As for point be: how do we know God is real and/or Christ was real and/or that he died and rose again? Well, the writings of Flavius Josephus, – Josephus was a priest, a soldier, and a scholar.  He is famous for being the most credible secular historian to record the existence of Jesus Christ outside of the New Testament. (http://reluctant-messenger.com/josephus.htm) – prove that Jesus was in fact real and that he both died and rose again.

Look around you, if you aren’t outside, you’ll probably see four walls and a roof. Someone had to build that house. Look down, if you are eating a meal, you may will probably see the meal in front of you (if you haven’t already eaten it), someone had to create that meal. Look around you, no matter where you are, you see part of the world, therefore someone most of created the world. And because that person could only be God, God must exist…

You are loved!
