Hello again!
The sermon today was on Proverbs 13 verse 1:
1 A wise son heeds his father’s instruction,
but a mocker does not respond to rebukes. (Proverbs 13:1)
In short, what the pastor said was though our father, which includes our Heavenly father God, may seem and I quote “nit-picky,” it turns out for the best. He used the example of getting a decimal point wrong, having your father come and address you on it, and your either refusing to listen or listening and obeying. He said that the father doesn’t really care so much about the fact that you got the problem wrong, as he does how this will end up effecting your entire life. He wants to address the problem now, before it “snowballs” into something bigger.
The whole point of the sermon was that we should listen to our father and obey what he tells us to do, because if we don’t, that problem could continue to grow to the point of damaging your life.
I apologize for the not-to-detailed summary of the sermon, I tend to lean more to remembering the examples he used and the main points, in other words, the slightly more memorable pieces of it.
